The Hallum dispensing GP practice wanted to modernise its medicine dispensing to reduce queues and increase efficiency, without compromising on safety. Nextlox was used to create a medicine dispensing system with secure lockers and integration with the Pharmacy Information System (AIS), making the process faster and clearer for both the team and the patient.
Hallum's dispensing GP practice is located in the north of Friesland. The practice cares for almost 2800 patients and works closely with the dispensing neighbouring practices of Burdaard, Ferwert and Holwerd.
The dispensing GP practice of Hallum wanted to modernise medicine dispensing to reduce queues, increase efficiency, and simultaneously ensure safety. They were looking for a solution that would integrate with their existing Pharmacy Information System (PIS).
We installed a medication dispensing system with secure lockers and full integration with the AIS. The system allows pharmacy assistants to easily scan prescriptions, after which customer data is automatically retrieved. After placing the medication in a locker, the system automatically sends a message with collection instructions to the customer, in our case a PIN code and QR code.
The new solution has drastically reduced waiting times and offers customers the flexibility to pick up medication at their convenience. Integration with the Track & Trace system ensures full transparency and security in the dispensing process, while pharmacy assistants have more time for advice and more complex tasks.
